About The Position

The Medical Assistant works at a community health center in Evanston, Illinois, greeting patients and escorting them to exam rooms. The role documents vital signs, allergies, medications, and reasons for office visits; provides front-office support as needed; and performs basic measurements such as blood pressure, height, and weight. Phlebotomy and injections may be required. Travel to other sites may be required based on department needs. On-the-job training is provided for candidates without prior medical assistant training or experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
• One year of work experience.

Nice To Haves

• Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program.
• Medical Assistant Certification through AMT or AAMA.
• Previous experience working in a medical office or related field.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and escort them to the exam room.
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications, and the reason for the office visit.
