About The Position

Schweiger is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for its San Francisco Presidio Terrace and Kentfield offices. The Medical Assistant performs medical, clinical, and clerical tasks in a medical setting and supports physicians and providers in delivering quality patient care. Healthcare experience is required. The schedule is 30 or more hours per week, with weekday availability and flexibility to help cover within a team environment. The posting also lists open availability during weekdays and weekends among the qualifications.

Requirements

• Previous healthcare experience is required.
• Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems.
• Computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Excellent patient relations and customer service skills.
• Availability to work during weekdays and weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Dermatology experience is preferred.
• Nationally Certified Medical Assistant credential is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere for patients and providers.
• Assist physicians with medical, cosmetic, and laser procedures.
• Help record treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorizations, and procedures within established guidelines.
• Understand patient flow and anticipate providers’ next steps when possible.
• Prepare rooms before and after patients and check equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure it is working properly.
• Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions as needed.
• Scan retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies daily, and alert the Head MA and/or GM when supplies are running low.
• Perform inventory responsibilities and stock supplies and equipment as requested.
• Attend in-house training and continuing education opportunities.
