About The Position

The Medical Assistant provides quality patient care promptly and professionally and assists with patient education. The role communicates patient information to and from the physician and performs other assigned tasks within the scope of the position. The Medical Assistant provides direct, individualized, goal-directed patient care under physician supervision.

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Medical training through a certificate program or at least two years of experience as a medical assistant in a clinical setting.
• Required BLS certification.
• Knowledge of glucometers, PT/INR machines, wheelchairs, and thermometers.
• Knowledge of urinalysis and EKG testing.
• Organizational skills.
• Oral and written communication and computer skills.
• Customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and coworkers.
• Ability to demonstrate proficiency by passing written and clinical tests.

Nice To Haves

• Active Medical Assistant certification or registration is preferred.
