About The Position

Assists the physician and office staff with performance of patient care activities consistent with the established standards of nursing practice. The incumbent in this position shall carry out his or her responsibilities and integrate into his or her work ethic the Mercy Philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respect for human life and the dignity of each person, applying Christian values to all crucial human issues in the area over which he or she has responsibility. In communicating with patients, families, visitors and co-workers, a caring, friendly, personal and professional approach is expected. Performs related duties as assigned. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • New hire must attend MA Clinic Academy training.
  • Current Medical Assistants who are moving to Certified Advanced Medical Assistant title on the career ladder must complete MA competencies.
  • Must actively maintain MA certification.
  • B.L.S. (Basic Life Support)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and clinical documentation.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Knowledge of common outpatient procedures and equipment.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and professional growth.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of varying differences and behaviors among populations served.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of applicable patient care experience in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting.
