About The Position
Valley Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their Family Practice team at the Amherst Medical Center. This is a dynamic environment where Medical Assistants work under the supervision of the Nurse Team Leader as part of the health care team, assisting in primary health care delivery and patient care management.
Requirements
- Medical Assisting program certificate, EMT license, or CNA license
- Current CPR certification
- EMR experience (Athena preferred)
- Experience working as a Medical Assistant, EMT, or CNA
Nice To Haves
- CMA or RMA certification strongly preferred
- Experience administering vaccines
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for their visit by obtaining vitals, patient history, medication reconciliation and reviewing allergies
- Assist with procedures and point-of-care testing
- Ordering necessary tests required for the visit to ensure satisfaction of the QM Tab measures.
- Document encounters in the Electronic Medical Record (Athena)
