Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant or relevant Licensure according to state requirements required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience in an outpatient, assisted living, hospital, or public health/community setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist on intake process, compile, process, and maintain medical records in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the health services department.
  • Monitor Unaccompanied Children (UC) health through assessing their records, symptoms, and reactions to treatment and care.
  • Assist on the delivery of medical care with the emphasis on disease prevention and health maintenance while ensuring compliance with State licensing, Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), and all policies and procedures implemented by CFRC.
  • Support in the medical, dental, and mental health services coordination to meet the needs of the children and ensure that all new arrivals receive their initial medical assessments within 48 hours as required by ORR.
  • Provide support for primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses. Immediate attention to service requests from clients. Assess and evaluate patients' needs for, and responses to, care rendered. Monitor and report on the progress and symptoms of clients in isolation.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assist practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care.
  • Maintain medical supplies and prescribed medications, follows standing orders, State licensing, and CFRC policies and procedures for providing over the counter medications to minors, prepares youth for examinations, and any other clinical tasks as needed. Maintain inventory of medicines in stock, expiration dates and availability.
  • Responsible for diagnostic filing, electronic, scans and hard copy documentation to the current chart, including but not limited to results, physician appointments and follow ups.
  • Ensure all care, history and treatments are properly documented into patient records per ORR, State, local, and medical department policy and procedures.
