About The Position

South Seattle Otolaryngology, a well-established private practice and care center of Proliance Surgeons, is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing excellent patient care, able to multitask, and adaptable in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role also provides Allergy Services, including performing allergy testing, preparing and mixing customized allergy immunotherapy vials, and administering allergy injections under physician supervision. While allergy experience is preferred, training will be provided for motivated candidates eager to learn.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and medications

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred, but not required. Will provide training
  • Current Washington State Medical Assistant Certification preferred, but not required
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a medical office preferred
  • Familiarity with or working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records a plus
  • Allergy experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and document vital signs, patient history, allergies, and chief complaints.
  • Prepare patients for exams and procedures.
  • Assist providers with clinical procedures.
  • Collect laboratory specimens.
  • Communicate test results as directed.
  • Perform phone triage and post-operative calls.
  • Respond to voicemail.
  • Coordinate appropriate patient follow-up.
  • Accurately document clinical information, medications, health history, visits, communications, and follow-up in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinate outside diagnostic testing and medical care.
  • Assist with referring physician communication, electronic prescribing, and medication management.
  • Prepare, clean, maintain, and stock clinical equipment and supplies.
  • Properly dispose of contaminated materials and sterilize instruments.
  • Perform allergy testing.
  • Prepare and mix customized allergy immunotherapy vials.
  • Administer allergy injections under physician supervision.
