About The Position

As a Medical Assistant, you will assist our providers with patient visits so they can always be a step ahead in assessing and determining patient treatment plans. Your medical assisting experience makes you one of our most multifaceted employees. You are able to get to know our patients and their medical history to ensure our providers have any and all information required to provide quality care. As a Medical Assistant, you take care of a lot of behind-the-scenes work. While our providers have high expectations of you as a medical assistant, your attention to detail and the task-oriented approach you take to your job will help you exceed these expectations. You roll out the red carpet for each and every patient to ensure a positive and consistent experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Current BLS certification will be required upon hire.
  • Entry level medical assistants are required to have around 0-3 years of experience.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred.
  • This is an entry level position requiring 0-3 years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
  • Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Some state regulations may require specific certifications in order to work as a Medical Assistant.
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Nice To Haves

  • A medical assisting certification is highly preferred.
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting patients and escorting them to their exam room.
  • Accurately recording patient information and recognizing significant details to share with the provider.
  • Communicating respectfully and thoroughly listening in conversations with patients, coworkers, and other professionals.
  • Obtaining patient records, test results, etc., while following all applicable HIPAA guidelines.
  • Scheduling and completing patient forms.
  • Assisting with any additional tasks as needed.
