About The Position

The Medical Assistant helps ensure a smooth transition between patient check-in and the doctor visit. In this onsite role, the Medical Assistant serves as a Patient Specialist, preparing patients before the doctor sees them so physicians can focus on medical decisions. The position reports to the Center Administrator. The role includes patient intake and clinical rooming, such as verifying medications and allergies, documenting patient history, and conducting validated screenings when needed. It also involves managing the electronic medical record (EMR) inbox and worklists by routing patient messages, lab results, and medication-adherence follow-ups according to established rules, with the goal of touching all tasks the same day. The Medical Assistant helps patients understand next steps by using the loop-back method, asking patients to repeat instructions in their own words. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week. The posted starting base-pay range is $43,000–$56,200 per year, and the role is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
