About The Position

Presbyterian Medical Group's Cedar Multispecialty Clinic is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant I or Medical Assistant II to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide exceptional patient care while supporting providers across multiple specialties in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment. This position offers a built-in career ladder, allowing qualified candidates to be considered for either the Medical Assistant I or Medical Assistant II level based on experience and education. Medical Assistant I employees have the opportunity to progress to Medical Assistant II through completion of required training and competency requirements. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant II candidates must possess six (6) months of MA experience or have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 12 months of hire.
  • Current BLS certification (AHA, Red Cross, or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required.
  • Ability to maintain certifications and complete all organizational, departmental, and position-specific competency requirements within designated timeframes.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing medical assistant procedures after completion of competency within organizations MA scope of work, under the supervision of a provider and PHS policy.
  • Assists with procedures as determined by provider
  • Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
  • Basic foot care
  • May perform regulatory audits as designated by the Clinic Manger
  • Assists with visit closure
  • Participates with care team to meet patient care and clinic needs, working cooperatively with others to accomplish required work in a timely and efficient manner
  • May perform scribe duties after completing PMG scribe training
  • Performs other duties as directed
