About The Position

The Medical Assistant assists physicians with patient care and performs clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. The role includes scheduling appointments and managing patient charts, providing patients with information to help them use and benefit from clinic services, and conveying a positive image of the clinic. The Medical Assistant may be assigned to a particular medical specialty and assist with care related to that specialty. The position requires delivering outstanding customer service in accordance with CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program, or one year of work experience as a Clinical Medical Assistant within the last three years.
• Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at hire or obtain certification within the first year of employment.
• Maintain BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient care.
• Perform clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient charts.
• Provide patients with information to help them use and benefit from clinic services.
• Convey a positive image of the clinic.
• Assist with patient care related to an assigned medical specialty, if applicable.
• Deliver customer service that upholds CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence.
