The Medical Assistant with the required training, education and demonstration of clinical expertise, performs delegated clinical and administrative duties at an advanced level under the supervision of a nurse or licensed physician. This role is for Outpatient Psychiatry and is a Full-Time position with a 40-hour work week, scheduled for day shifts. The Medical Assistant will coordinate and assist with patient care and flow, monitor patient cycle times, identify and solve problems, and assist co-workers. They will also provide technical expertise, clinical services, and prepare patients for examinations and treatments, adhering to family-centered care and medical home models. The role requires providing flexible, culturally competent care and treating families as partners in decision-making. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will serve as a customer advocate, respond to patient and family needs, and provide appropriate education. Collaboration with colleagues to resolve problems and achieve goals is essential, as is maintaining a positive and professional work environment. Data management includes managing records, assisting with data collection, obtaining consent forms, and maintaining patient files with accurate data entry. Laboratory work involves managing specimens, retrieving test results, and communicating normal lab results as delegated.
