About The Position

Gastro Care Partners is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and patient-focused full-time Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care by supporting our providers, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring every patient feels welcomed, informed, and cared for throughout their visit. The Medical Assistant serves as an integral member of the care team by preparing patients for examinations, coordinating clinical workflows, maintaining accurate medical records, and assisting providers in delivering efficient, compassionate care. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant required
  • BLS certification required
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout their employment.

  • Additionally, employees hired for this position must reside in the State of Colorado no later than their first day of employment and maintain residency in Colorado.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GI or Pain Management preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Knowledge of GCP, federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Obtaining and documenting vital signs, drawing blood, preparing patients for examinations and procedures, and assisting with repositioning as needed.
  • Provide patients with pre-operative and post-operative education and instructions to promote understanding, safety, and successful recovery.
  • Accurately collect, document, and maintain patient medical histories, vital statistics, test results, and other pertinent clinical information within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Observe, monitor, and promptly communicate changes in patient condition to the physician, RN, or appropriate clinical team member.
  • Recognize and immediately report emergency situations or changes in patient status to the Lead RN or provider while assisting with emergency response efforts.
  • Assist with patient discharge by reviewing instructions, coordinating follow-up care, and ensuring patients leave with the information and resources they need.
  • Prepare examination and procedure rooms by ensuring equipment is clean, functioning properly, and stocked with necessary medical supplies.
  • Maintain clinical equipment and inventory by cleaning, troubleshooting, organizing, stocking, and reordering medical supplies as needed.
  • Follow infection prevention, safety, OSHA, HIPAA, and organizational policies to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties, including scheduling appointments, answering phones, filing, scanning, patient registration, insurance verification, data entry, and other front-office support as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, front office staff, and other members of the healthcare team to provide coordinated, high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and ongoing education to support professional growth and organizational excellence.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet the operational needs of the clinic.
