About The Position

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join their team. This role is a crucial part of the care team, working alongside a primary care physician to deliver excellent patient care and an exceptional guest experience. Due to Marathon Health's unique model, Medical Assistants manage the full patient experience, functioning as both a Medical Receptionist and performing clinical duties. Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
  • CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program.
  • National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.
  • MA certification or registration is required for employment in States where certification/registration is required.
  • Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to rooms and ensure exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked.
  • Review previous medical information and gather updated health information from the patient.
  • Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, and assist with procedures.
  • Work with contracted labs for additional tests.
  • Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations under the direction of the Provider.
  • Partner with the care team to develop individual patient plans of care and address gaps in care.
  • Perform front desk duties, including patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordinating specialist visits and referrals, check-in, and check-out.
  • Record accurate and pertinent data in the medical record according to documentation guidelines.
  • Process test results and provide patients with timely results as directed by the Provider.
  • Participate in patient outreach to drive engagement.
  • Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment for treatments.
