About The Position

Sante Health System is encouraging all Medical Assistants who are proficient in speaking English and Spanish to apply and to join our team full-time at one of our medical office teams in the Fresno, CA area. In this medical assisting position, you would provide top-notch customer service both in-person and over the phone and assist our physicians with delivering specialty care to our patients. Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent
  • Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants
  • Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (spoken and written) required to effectively communicate with Spanish-speaking patients and support delivery of care
  • Exceptional people and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide top-notch customer service both in-person and over the phone.
  • Assist physicians with delivering specialty care to patients.
  • Welcome patients with a warm smile and demeanor.
  • Check patients in and verify their insurance and personal information on their records.
  • Register incoming referrals and schedule appointments.
  • Manage patient files, records, schedules and other information while maintaining strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Ensure exam and treatment rooms are stocked with necessary instruments and supplies and everything is sterilized.
  • Maintain the medication sample closet to ensure supplies are organized and stocked.
  • Obtain patient vitals and determine the nature of their visit.
  • Provide patient teaching related to pre and post care instructions.
  • Measure and fit compression stockings as recommended by the provider.
  • Assist physicians by preparing patients for minor surgeries and physicals.
  • Administer injections and apply splints and dressings.
  • Handle office duties including scheduling appointments, answering phones, screening calls, and relaying messages by phone or mail.
  • Answer patient questions about general policies and procedures.
  • Keep supplies and inventory well managed and order more supplies as needed.
  • Keep work area and lobby neat and orderly.
