About The Position

Oula is seeking a thoughtful, patient-focused Medical Assistant to join its collaborative maternity practice at the Cos Cob, Connecticut clinic. The role supports patients’ clinical experience and helps the clinic run smoothly through routine clinical and administrative work, efficient rooming, care coordination, and team-based operations. The position requires working within the Medical Assistant scope of practice, maintaining and reporting on equipment, following universal precautions, and safely disposing of medical waste. The Medical Assistant may also provide cross-site coverage and perform other assigned duties. This is a full-time position.

Requirements

• Proficient and comfortable with phlebotomy; required.
• Solid knowledge of medical terminology.
• Flexible schedule, including availability from clinic opening until the last patient departs.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs).
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 3 years of relevant healthcare experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in pregnancy or maternity care.
• Spanish language proficiency.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and provide clinical support.
• Provide administrative support, including paperwork and forms.
• Support follow-up and care coordination.
• Contribute to clinic flow and team-based operations.
• Communicate with patients and support a positive patient experience.
• Perform responsibilities within the Medical Assistant scope of practice.
• Maintain proficiency with equipment and promptly report issues.
• Follow universal precautions and safely dispose of medical waste.
• Anticipate and complete tasks that need attention, even if they are unassigned.
• Support cross-site coverage as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
