About The Position

Dayton Gastroenterology is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for its clinic at 75 Sylvania Drive in Beavercreek, Ohio. The role supports physicians and patients by providing clinical and administrative assistance. Candidates should have knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. Prior Medical Assistant experience is a plus but is not required, and on-the-job training is available. BLS certification is required or must be obtained within 90 days of employment. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
• BLS certification, or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant.
• Previous experience working in a medical office environment.

Responsibilities

• Measure and document patients’ vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
• Collect specimens for laboratory analysis, as applicable.
• Obtain, verify, and record patients’ health histories.
• Assist the physician during office visits and in emergencies.
• Manage patient prescriptions as directed by the physician.
• Manage referrals as directed by the physician.
• Answer patient questions.
• Notify patients of test results.
• Assist with scheduling office visits, procedures, laboratory tests, x-rays, outpatient testing, hospital admissions, and other appointments as necessary.
