Medical Assistant Orthopedics
About The Position
As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you will be part of the clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to help deliver the best possible patient care. This position is based at Pennock Orthopedics & Pain Center in Hastings, Michigan. The schedule is full time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Corewell Health operates more than 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, with over 40 types of primary care and specialty practices. Clinic team members can explore different interests or specialize in an area. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is available to external applicants and current CHW MA Apprentice Students only. Corewell Health requires a drug-free workplace. Team members in onsite or hybrid roles must comply with MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza vaccine requirements. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills, or at least one year of experience working specifically as a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic, or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with an MA scope of practice.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
- Obtain one of the following certifications within 120 days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA).
