About The Position

Forefront Dermatology is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for its Fond du Lac, Wisconsin clinic. The Medical Assistant supports patients and dermatologists during visits, helping create a friendly and efficient environment. The schedule is Monday through Wednesday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The role may require travel to other clinic locations as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum post-high-school education in a medical support field, such as Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse.
• Non-certified Medical Assistants must complete Forefront's Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration.
• Keep all state certifications, licenses, and/or registrations current to continue employment.
• Be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• Be proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems.
• Possess organizational and communication skills.
• Work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors.
• Be able to multitask, prioritize appropriately, and work well independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity.
• Certified Medical Assistant or DERM Tech certification.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and document vital information.
• Scribe information for the dermatologist.
• Provide postoperative wound care to patients.
• Draw blood and remove sutures.
• Clean and stock examination rooms.
• Schedule patient appointments.
• Assist the dermatologist with procedures, including surgical photography; punch, DIF, and shave biopsies; excisions; electrodessication and curettage; I&D; Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery; phototherapy; injections; KOH preps; trichograms; Tzanck preps; dermabrasion; patch testing; and blue light.
