About The Position

Under the direct supervision of a provider and nursing leadership, the Medical Assistant performs administrative and clinical tasks that support quality, compassionate patient care in a family medicine practice. Duties include greeting and escorting patients to exam rooms, obtaining medical histories, measuring and recording vital signs, preparing patients for examinations or procedures, and assisting providers during examinations or procedures. The position is contingent and listed for days at Henry Ford Family Medicine – Orchard View in Washington Township, Michigan.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Meet at least one of the stated qualification pathways: graduate from a Medical Assistant program with a formal clinical externship of at least 160 hours; graduate from a Medical Assistant program without a clinical externship and have at least one year of clinical medical assisting experience within the past five years; hold a current professionally recognized Medical Assistant certification and have at least one year of clinical medical assisting experience; be a Licensed Practical Nurse; be a licensed Paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician with at least one year of clinical experience in a medical setting within the past five years; or be military-trained medical personnel with at least one year of clinical experience in a medical setting within the past five years.
Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.
