Medical Assistant, Remote
About The Position
Salvo Health is seeking experienced Medical Assistants for a remote position, focusing on making outbound calls to patients. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage tasks efficiently in a remote setting. This role involves conducting patient intake meetings via phone, managing documentation in electronic health records (EHRs), triaging patient messages, and scheduling appointments, all while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism. The position is well-suited for individuals who thrive in an early-stage startup environment, are eager to learn, process-oriented, and prioritize patient care.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a medical assistant, virtual medical assistant, or administrative support role in a healthcare setting
- Experience working in a remote setting
- Experience making out-bound calls to patients
- Strong familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, eCW, gGastro)
- Experience in message triaging, charting, or medical documentation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with GI conditions preferred
- Familiarity with telemedicine platforms is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound calls to patients to complete patient intake calls
- Manage patient scheduling, appointments, and follow-ups
- Handle medical records, data entry, and documentation in EHR systems
- Monitor, triage, and respond to incoming member messages
- Ensure all patient records are accurately entered into the EHR system and update them as needed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Provide general administrative support to care team and patients
- Manage patient tasks to ensure timely documentation and communication for all patients
