About The Position

The Medical Assistant screens patients and obtains pertinent information. The role assists a physician or advanced practitioner during patient visits in accordance with age-specific needs and supports patient care and communication as instructed. The Medical Assistant maintains exam rooms and the work environment and provides support to the clinic as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Training program, or equivalent experience.
Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining during orientation before providing patient care.
Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for the duration of employment.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, emergency room, and/or hospital setting providing patient care.
Medical office, insurance, referral and prior authorization, hospital, or computer experience.
Experience in office clerical activities.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
