About The Position

As a Concentra Medical Assistant, you will perform routine medical and testing procedures under the direct supervision of the treating clinician. You will help ensure each patient receives quality clinical care and an excellent patient experience through welcoming, respectful, and skillful service. The position is per diem and located in Walnut Creek, California.

The role also includes cross-training in Front Office duties. It requires discretion and secure management of confidential and sensitive information.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, training as a medical assistant, or military medical specialist with current credentials in the state of employment.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic clinical office environment.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) credentials are preferred but not required.
• Conversational fluency and the ability to read and write in both English and Spanish are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, obtain their medical histories, and verify patient information.
• Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and performing required testing.
• Assist during examinations and treatment.
• Perform ancillary testing and tasks as directed by the Center Medical Director and as certified, including PFT, EKG, injections, audiograms, and blood draws.
• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Perform cross-trained Front Office duties, including greeting patients, obtaining authorization, checking patients in and out, and communicating wait times.
• Use ongoing discretion and secure information management when accessing confidential and sensitive information.
