About The Position

Cleveland Clinic is hiring a Medical Assistant at its Twinsburg Family Health and Surgery Center. The facility provides specialty care, primary care, and surgical services. The Medical Assistant helps create a welcoming environment for patients, families, and visitors while collaborating with clinical and administrative staff. The role supports medication management, patient monitoring, patient care, compliance, and coordination with interdisciplinary teams.

The caregiver works a day schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Responsibilities include gathering and updating patient health information, assisting with screenings and treatments, collecting specimens, performing tests, documenting care, monitoring and communicating changes in patient condition, maintaining equipment and supplies, and completing administrative and clerical tasks.

The role requires following standard precautions and using personal protective equipment as required. Cleveland Clinic requires compliance with its influenza prevention program, including annual vaccination or an approved exemption. Offers of employment are subject to controlled-substance testing.

Requirements

• Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program, as designated by the Enterprise MA Steering Committee.
• Complete a clinical externship; extensive clinical experience may be considered in lieu of a formal clinical externship.
• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within the new-hire period.
• Demonstrate current clinical proficiency.
• Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W), or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered.

Nice To Haves

• Medical Assisting Certification.
• Successful completion of a Cleveland Clinic Externship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with screenings and treatments by gathering and updating health-maintenance information.
• Identify medication changes and update allergy information.
• Collect specimens, perform tests, and document patient care.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Maintain equipment, medical supplies, and examination areas.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
