About The Position

Provides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting at our AFC Urgent Care Stamford location. This role supports a fast-paced clinical environment and works directly with a franchised business location. Specific duties and benefits may vary by location.

Requirements

Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.

Responsibilities

Obtain patient vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit; prepare patients for examination
Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients
Ensure all ordered tests are completed accurately and in a timely manner
Administer medications and treatments according to approved protocols
Perform venipuncture and prepare specimens for reference lab and/or in-house processing
Conduct laboratory testing, quality controls, and equipment maintenance per written procedures
Respond to lab messages and patient call-back requests
Perform drug screening procedures in compliance with established regulations
Administer and document immunizations according to approved protocols
Coordinate physician referrals and obtain service pre-certifications as needed
Prepare and maintain exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies
Maintain complete and accurate patient documentation
Perform other duties as assigned
