About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Children's Surgical Center in Murfreesboro. VUMC is a community dedicated to advancing health and wellness through patient care, education, and research. This role supports the licensed healthcare team in performing office examinations and procedures by managing clinic patient flow, gathering and documenting patient screening data, assisting with patient and family education, and communicating with the patient's healthcare team. The Medical Assistant will play a key role in ensuring efficient clinic operations and providing excellent patient care.

Directs and supports patient flow as well as unit operations by maintaining supplies, equipment and unit environmental standards.
Facilitates identification of resources to meet patient healthcare needs.
Performs/assists with procedures according to organizational/departmental standards.
Collects and documents patient screening data for the healthcare team.
Assists with patient and family education.
