Medical Assistant, Primary Care West Kendall, $3000 Bonus, Full Time, shift varies
About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for their Primary Care West Kendall location. This full-time position offers a sign-on bonus of up to $3,000. The Medical Assistant works under the clinical supervision of the practice physician(s) and clinic supervisor/manager, assisting physicians in patient examinations and treatments. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs and patient information, recording data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis. The estimated pay range for this position is $21.24 - $27.61 per hour, depending on experience.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, GED or equivalent training or experience required.
- Must have at least one of the following required licenses/certifications: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Paramedic, Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required for all.
- CNA, LPN, EMT license must be from Florida.
- Must be a professional, organized detail-oriented team player with effective interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
- Possesses compassionate demeanor, excellent customer service skills and high ethical standards.
- HIPAA/OSHA compliance required.
- Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment efficiently.
- Proficient in computer applications and typing skills.
- Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Minimum Required Experience: less than 1 year
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual preferred.
- Knowledge of Health Care regulatory guidelines and Medical Terminology a plus.
- For Primary Care Practices, EKG and Phlebotomy Certifications are also required for employees with the CNA license only.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the physicians in the practice.
- Assisting in examination and treatment of patients.
- Rooming patients and obtaining information.
- Measuring vital signs (i.e.: pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, pulse oximeter, pain level, weight, and height).
- Recording information on patients' charts/Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collecting and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis.
