MA Nampa Cancer Institute Clinic Part-Time
About The Position
The Cancer Institute is now hiring for a part-time Medical Assistant at our Nampa Cancer Institute located on the Nampa Medical Center campus. This position will primarily support a Nurse Practitioner and also help support other providers and clinical support staff. Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire
- MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Healthcare Association (CCMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA), National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA), American Medical Certification Association (CMAC), National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)
- New Graduates: MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school.
- New Graduates: Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification.
- Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.
Responsibilities
- Rooming patients and taking vitals
- Complete chart prep
- Assist patients with moving within the clinic
- Set up for procedures
- Schedule new patients, follow up visits, and other appointments within the hospital such as chemotherapy or radiation appointments, and complete related paperwork
- Coordinate with pre-auth and dosimetry staff to schedule procedures
- Provide comfort to patients who come for treatment
- Occasionally assist the provider with bone marrow biopsies
- Perform phlebotomy
