About The Position
The Medical Assistant works on the Cardiology team at Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital, helping create a welcoming and comfortable environment for patients, families, and visitors. The role involves supporting medication management, monitoring patients, completing administrative tasks, and contributing to positive health outcomes. The position offers opportunities to enhance skills, gain hands-on experience, and explore advanced roles at Cleveland Clinic. This is a regular PRN position with day hours scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience.
- Current demonstrated clinical proficiency.
Nice To Haves
- Military training as a hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W), or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) is considered.
- Successful completion of a Cleveland Clinic externship.
- CMA, NCMA, or CCMA certification.
Responsibilities
- Assist with screenings and treatments by gathering and updating health-maintenance information, identifying medication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens, performing tests, and documenting patient care.
- Monitor and communicate changes in patients’ conditions.
- Maintain equipment, medical supplies, and examination areas.
- Perform administrative and clerical duties, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
