Medical Assistant
About The Position
The Medical Assistant supports front- and back-office clinic operations and delivers safe, compassionate, and professional patient care under the direction of a provider and/or nurse, within their scope of practice. The role also supports administrative functions and helps maintain clinical excellence and a smooth patient experience. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, with some travel to Phoenix and Ahwatukee locations. The position requires Medical Assistant certification. Mohs and/or dermatology experience is highly preferred. The employer maintains a tobacco-free environment and does not hire tobacco or nicotine users, including users of e-cigarettes or vaping products.
Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is required.
- Must not use tobacco or nicotine, including e-cigarettes or vaping products.
Nice To Haves
- Mohs and/or dermatology experience is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and assist the provider as needed.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient exams and procedures, keeping rooms neat and clean.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly exam-room cleaning, inventory, and equipment checks.
- Scan paperwork and upload pictures into the EMR, and scribe for the provider.
- Record new patients’ medical history, medications, allergies, and pertinent information in the EMR.
- Reinforce doctors’ instructions regarding procedures and results.
