About The Position

Medical Assistants are a vital aspect to our team that allows us to give individualized care to each and every patient. Our medical assistants help our clinic run smoothly and efficiently. A new hire would begin their orientation by learning the flow of the office and rooming patients. New skills and tasks will be introduced as orientation progresses. The MA documents the visit and then completes all necessary orders, paperwork, and care needs. Medical Assistants who are committed to excellence and continue to grow in their health knowledge may have the opportunity to Precept new MA’s. Medical Assistants work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of licensed clinical professionals in a clinic or practice environment. Requirements

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Successful completion of accredited/approved: MA program and MA externship, MA internship, EMT, or Paramedic program.
  • Minimum: In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) American Medical Technologists (RMA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA) National Healthcareer Association (CCMA) National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA) American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
  • New graduate or 1 or more years of previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Room set up and patient preparation
  • Taking vitals (Manual & Electronic)
  • Perform EKG
  • Drawing blood and giving injections and immunizations.
  • Performing office tests (Point of Care Testing)
  • Pharmacology
  • Administrative duties
  • May perform or assisting with in-office procedures / treatments
