About The Position
The HealthCare Connection (THCC) is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their mission-driven team. This role supports providers and nurses in delivering high-quality care to children and adolescents. The position offers the opportunity to impact student health and well-being with a consistent work schedule that allows for work-life balance. THCC was founded in 1967 and is Ohio’s first Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Their mission is to provide quality and accessible primary healthcare services through community responsive approaches that address financial, geographic, and other barriers to care for residents of northern Hamilton County and surrounding areas. THCC is proudly recognized as a Level 3 Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). They boast two primary care locations and 6 school-based health centers providing quality value-based care for over 20,000 patients. They provide services in Primary Care, Infectious Disease, Substance Use, Integrated Behavioral Health, Dental Services, Women’s Health, and Pharmacy.
Requirements
- Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant program
- Active CPR certification
- Proven computer skills a must
- Excellent communication and customer service
- Attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information and relate to persons from diverse educational, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of experience in community health nursing setting or private physician practice.
- Preferred experience working with electronic health records
- Experience working with persons of diverse educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assisting providers with direct patient care including: interviewing the patient and documenting vitals and medical concerns and conditions
- Conducting requested screening/tests
- Drawing blood and administering shots to patients
- Responding to telephone inquiries
- Maintaining equipment and supplies in exam rooms and office
- Completing encounter forms and code as necessary
- Conducting referrals for patients
- Performing other duties necessary to provide excellent patient care to the patients and to support our providers
