About The Position

Glendive Medical Center is looking for a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to support patients receiving surgical and outpatient infusion services. This position plays an important role in creating a positive patient experience by assisting with clinical care, coordinating appointments, maintaining accurate records, and helping patients navigate their treatment journey. As a member of the Surgery and Infusion Services team, you will help patients prepare for treatment, assist with daily clinic operations, and ensure the department runs smoothly and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a CMA Certification from an Accredited Medical Assisting Program within twelve (12) months of hire.
  • Current BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy healthcare setting
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and safety
  • Collaborative approach to working with providers and healthcare teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a medical office, clinic, infusion center, or surgical setting
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health records (EHRs)

Responsibilities

  • Gather and document patient information including vital signs, height, weight, and medical history updates
  • Welcome and escort patients throughout the clinic while providing compassionate customer service
  • Complete follow-up communication after procedures and document outcomes in the medical record
  • Coordinate infusion and treatment appointments while ensuring required documentation is in place
  • Support communication between patients, providers, nurses, and other departments
  • Assist with patient education and appointment preparation as directed
  • Schedule appointments and maintain provider calendars
  • Update patient demographics, insurance information, and registration records
  • Verify insurance eligibility and authorization requirements
  • Respond to incoming phone calls and assist with patient inquiries
  • Facilitate referrals and coordinate care services as needed
  • Prepare and clean examination and treatment spaces
  • Monitor inventory levels and replenish clinical supplies
  • Follow infection prevention protocols and safety guidelines
  • Assist with departmental documentation and compliance activities
  • Contribute to an organized, efficient, and patient-centered environment
