About The Position

The Medical Assistant supports the care team by performing clinical and administrative tasks essential to patient care while adhering to relevant regulations and guidelines for patient safety and confidentiality. The role calls for professionalism and compassion in all interactions and is a key part of the ambulatory care team, supporting providers, connecting with patients, and contributing to a seamless care experience. The position is based at 3232 Lake Ave in Wilmette, Illinois, and is part-time at 20 hours per week. Every fourth weekend is required. The listed schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (10:00 p.m.), and Saturday and Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (7:00 p.m.).

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• A medical assistant diploma, or two years of medical assistant experience, or certification as a medical assistant with two years of medical assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab-related tasks, including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.
• Follow relevant regulations and guidelines to help ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
