About The Position

Peak Orthopaedics is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical expertise and help ensure patients receive high-quality, efficient care. The role supports physicians and patients in a practice setting and is full time, Monday through Friday during the day, with no nights, on-call shifts, weekends, or holidays.

Requirements

• At least one year of medical assisting or other direct clinical patient-care experience in a healthcare setting.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Meet one of the listed certification pathways: hold an accepted Medical Assistant certification (RMA, CCMA, CMA, NCMA, or NRCMA) or ABR-OE credentials; if recently graduated from a Medical Assisting training program within the past 12 months, obtain Medical Assistant certification within 60 days of employment; or, with one year of Medical Assistant work experience and no certification, obtain Medical Assistant certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments; prepare and maintain supplies and treatment equipment, including sterilization.
• Give injections and assist with laboratory testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians with preparation for minor surgeries and physicals.
• Answer practice telephone calls and screen for referral.
