About The Position

Prairie Band Health Service is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide exceptional healthcare services. The Uintah & Ouray Health Center (Uintah-Ouray Service Unit) is an Indian Health Service (IHS) facility in Fort Duchesne, UT, serving the Ute Indian Tribe of the Uintah & Ouray Reservation. Indian Preference Exercised. Prairie Band, LLC is subject to Title 22: Employment Code of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. In accordance with Title 22, this position is designated as a TIER 2 position. Preference will be given to individuals to the extent required pursuant to Section 22-2-4(B).

Requirements

Completion of a medical assistant program, certified/licensed medical assistant certificate, preferred
Current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support)
Must have an active, unrestricted, and free of disciplinary action certificate/license as a medical assistant in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States
Must be a U.S. citizen living primarily within the United States.
Must be willing and able to complete and pass the federal security clearance process.

Responsibilities

Provide patient education.
Carry out physician orders; administer medications, oxygen, and a variety of treatments.
Manage therapeutic devices such as respiratory and electrocardiograph machines and other medical equipment and supplies.
Measure and assess vital signs, height, weight, and neurological status, visual acuity and hearing.
Screen patients for alcohol dependence, depression, etc.
Collaborate and coordinate patient care with other health care providers.
