About The Position

ExpressCare Urgent Care Centers is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for its Hampstead, Maryland location. The role supports providers and helps ensure a smooth patient experience while delivering high-quality community healthcare in a fast-paced urgent care environment. Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and clinical externship.
• CPR certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Superior customer service skills.
• A high level of professionalism.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to comply with the company travel policy.
• Ability to work shifts of 13 or more hours, stand and walk for long periods, and lift 25 pounds.
• Scheduling flexibility, including availability on weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification.
• At least one year of clinical experience in a physician’s office or hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed triage, obtain medical histories, and accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Measure and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, height, and weight.
• Perform basic laboratory procedures, including EKGs, phlebotomy, urine specimen collection, and influenza nasal swabs.
• Prepare and administer oral and injectable medications under physician supervision.
• Prepare exam rooms with the necessary instruments and supplies.
• Provide patients with basic health information and instructions about discharge paperwork and medications provided by the provider.
• Complete checklists, inventory records, and other written logs accurately.
