About The Position

The Medical Assistant I works under the clinical supervision of a Physician or Advanced Practice Provider in a primary care practice. The role assists with preparing and delivering patient care as directed by providers and other licensed clinical personnel, performing clinical duties skillfully and consistently according to established policies and procedures.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for 40 standard weekly hours. Cook Children’s is a not-for-profit organization with a network of pediatric medical services and locations throughout Texas. The employer requires employees to maintain their primary residence in Texas and maintain all licenses and credentials required for the position.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant school or hold a current medical assistant certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• Maintain a primary residence in Texas if hired.
• Maintain all licenses and credentials required for the position throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric experience.
• Experience working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• National certification.
