The Medical Assistant will prepare and room patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and gathering/documenting/updating pertinent health information. They will monitor and complete Clinical Integration/Quality Improvement measures, perform laboratory procedures, and assist the Physician/Advanced Practice Professional (APP) with procedures. The Medical Assistant will administer routine medications, follow through with necessary procedure or test requests, and communicate with the healthcare team to ensure smooth clinic flow. They may also perform basic and advanced clinical support tasks based on specialty and competencies, such as suture/staple removal, laboratory procedures, phlebotomy, EKGs, spirometry, Holter monitor application, and prescription refills under clinical supervision. This role requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care and demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles.
