About The Position
The Medical Assistant / Certified Medical Assistant works in the Neurology Clinic at CHI Health Clinic’s Immanuel Campus. This role delivers compassionate, high-quality patient care and supports patient well-being and recovery by providing individualized care, making assessments, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. The position follows established clinic workflows and provides general patient care.
Requirements
- Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
- Current, valid nationally recognized medical assistant certification, registration, or recognition (AAMA/CMA, RMA, or NCMA).
- Successfully completed a Medication Aide 40-hour course or hold current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities
- Perform general patient care following established clinic workflows.
- Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires, and documenting reasons for the visit.
- Collect and prepare ordered specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Prepare and provide ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.
- Perform other duties within the scope of the role as assigned.
