About The Position

Jax Spine and Pain Center is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and patient-focused Medical Assistant to support physicians and advanced practice providers with patient care, clinical procedures, and administrative tasks. The role helps provide an exceptional patient experience and efficient clinic operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The Medical Assistant rooms patients, collects clinical information, prepares patients for examinations and procedures, assists providers during visits and minor office procedures, and performs assigned clinical tasks. The role also documents patient information in the electronic medical record, coordinates referrals and follow-up appointments, provides patient education, maintains clinical rooms and supplies, and supports compliance with safety and privacy standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain it upon hire.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a pain management, orthopedic, spine, neurology, or interventional specialty practice.
Experience assisting with patient evaluations, procedure preparation, injections, and treatment plan follow-up.
Familiarity with pain management terminology, medications, and treatment protocols.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and patient-service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, spine, or a related specialty practice.
Current Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain certification within a designated timeframe.

Responsibilities

Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, and chief complaints.
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
Assist providers during patient visits and minor office procedures.
Administer injections and medications as directed and within scope of practice.
Perform EKGs, specimen collection, and other clinical duties as assigned.
Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and follow-up appointments as needed.
Provide patient education regarding medications, procedures, and treatment plans.
Maintain exam rooms, clinical supplies, and equipment.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and safety standards.
Assist with inventory management and supply ordering.
Collaborate with providers and team members to promote efficient patient flow and quality care.
