About The Position

Bay Area Foot Care is a podiatry practice serving patients of all ages and lifestyles at locations across the Bay Area. The Medical Assistant works with physicians and other practice team members to perform clinical and administrative duties, fulfill patient needs, and support smooth patient flow within the practice.

Requirements

• Critical-thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.
• Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of basic medical procedures, such as wound dressing.
• Strong communication skills and ability to actively listen.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Strong organizational and clerical skills to maintain patient files and perform office duties.
• Customer service skills.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current American Heart Association CPR certification.
• Certification from an approved medical assistant program, or an equivalent combination of training.

Nice To Haves

• Athena EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients by phone and in person.
• Escort patients to exam rooms.
• Take patients’ vital signs.
• Assist with and set up examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient files.
• Apply dressings, bandages, and splints as ordered by the podiatrist.
• Maintain a sanitized and safe working environment.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Keep treatment rooms stocked with appropriate supplies.
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
