About The Position

Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG), the employed physician group of Dignity Health Arizona, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patients and the clinical team. The Medical Assistant helps keep daily operations running smoothly and efficiently by proactively preparing patient charts and ensuring information is obtained and up to date. The role may support multiple patients each day, depending on the number of physicians on site. Success requires enthusiasm for helping others, efficiency, and empathy for patients.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or completion of a U.S. Armed Forces Medical services training program.
• Demonstrated experience with the computer program used for checking in and scheduling patients.

Nice To Haves

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) – CPR.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience.
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience.
• Previous experience in the designated specialty.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient charts proactively and ensure patient information is obtained and up to date.
• Maintain hospital standards for zero tolerance of mislabeled specimens and collect laboratory specimens according to hospital protocol.
• Assist the nurse or physician during examinations, treatments, and procedures as requested.
• Retrieve necessary equipment and supplies.
• Assist with patient and equipment preparation.
• Perform follow-up actions as directed.
• Complete hospital forms according to protocol.
