Medical Assistant -- Per Diem
About The Position
Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group is seeking a per diem Medical Assistant to support patients and providers in an outpatient Heart and Vascular Office. The role supports a fast-paced specialty practice focused on cardiac health. The Medical Assistant rooms patients, takes vital signs, assists with procedures, collects specimens, and maintains accurate electronic health record documentation. The role also prepares exam rooms and helps keep patient flow running smoothly throughout the day. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and compassionate, and works well in a collaborative clinical environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least six months of related work experience.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of medical assisting normally associated with an Associate’s Degree in Medical Assistance is preferred.
- National Certification as a Medical Assistant is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms and patients for examinations or minor surgeries.
- Document patient history, vital signs, and medications, and serve as a scribe during examinations.
- Manage lab and test results and ensure accurate documentation in patient records.
- Coordinate patient flow and assist with front-office tasks, including scheduling and calls.
- Assist with procedures and collect specimens.
