The Medical Assistant will adhere to the Medical Assistant scope of practice, follow all policies and procedures, and maintain training and competency based on area of specialty when providing patient care. This role involves performing rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings. The Medical Assistant will assist providers with procedures, perform lab-related duties including venipuncture and specimen collection, and conduct Point of Care testing. They will also administer medications and vaccines safely, complete CLIA-approved waived laboratory tests, and perform other assigned duties such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, and patient messaging. The Medical Assistant will be cross-trained for relevant duties within their scope and demonstrate effective communication, teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and well-stocked work environment. This position requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care and interpret patient status based on their age-specific needs.
