The Medical Assistant will adhere to the Medical Assistant scope of practice, follow all policies and procedures, and maintain training and competency based on area of specialty when providing patient care. This role involves performing rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings. The Medical Assistant will also assist providers with procedures, perform lab-related duties including venipuncture and specimen collection, and conduct Point of Care testing (POCT). Additionally, the role includes administering medications and vaccines safely, completing tasks such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, patient messaging, and appointment scheduling. The Medical Assistant will be cross-trained to perform relevant duties within their scope and demonstrate effective communication and teamwork. Maintaining a clean work environment, ensuring equipment and supplies are in working order, and stocking areas are also key responsibilities. The position requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care based on knowledge of growth and development.
