About The Position

Our care model combines in-clinic and virtual care to bring support to patients where and when they need it. As a Medical Assistant at knownwell, you will play a key role in delivering patient-centered care by managing clinical tasks and supporting the broader healthcare team. You’ll be responsible for assisting with procedures, managing patient flow, and ensuring patient records are up to date, all while providing compassionate, high-quality care. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification strongly preferred.
  • 1-2 years of healthcare experience; experience in primary care, specialty care, metabolic health, or weight management preferred.
  • Experience with phlebotomy; comfort with regular blood draws without assistance preferred.
  • Comfort with electronic medical records (EMR) systems; familiarity with athenahealth preferred.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; works effectively and collaboratively with patients, clinicians, and teammates.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and other visitors in a professional and welcoming manner, verify patient details, and collect co-payments / patient responsibility.
  • Take vitals, gather patient histories, and assist with clinical procedures (e.g., EKGs, body composition scans, and phlebotomy).
  • Support smooth transitions between check-in, exam rooms, and check-out.
  • Update patient records, order testing, coordinate with external facilities, and review test results with clinicians.
  • Triage and respond to inbox messages to ensure patients receive appropriate support between visits. Support patient scheduling, outreach, and other engagement efforts as needed.
  • Ensure supplies are stocked and rooms are ready for patient care.
  • Provide support for clinicians on virtual patient care days as part of our hybrid care model.
  • Adhere to knownwell’s values and provide a patient-centered and empowering experience in all interactions.
