About The Position
SMJMG Family Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant non-certified in Palmyra, VA! This role involves performing patient care and administrative and clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The position is Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week, with a shift time of 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Occasional floating as needed is also part of the role.
Requirements
- One year of clinical/administrative experience required
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Certification must be received within (9) nine months of employment in one of the following certification programs: CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or CMA- Certified Medical Assistant or RMA- Registered Medical Assistant or EMT- Emergency Medical Technician
- BLS is required within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric experience highly preferred
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
