About The Position

Working Under the direction of physician/ provider. The MA is responsible to assist in the examination and treatment of patients delivering high quality care and services, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program.
  • Current, nationally recognized Medical assistant Certification or Registration required or obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • Current CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of CLIA and OSHA guidelines.
  • Knowledge of sterilization and disinfection procedures.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA laws and ability to adhere to confidentiality policies.
  • Knowledge of current medical assistant best practices and procedures including EKG and basic drugs.
  • Knowledge of medical and pharmacology terminology and medical office procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of patient management software and basic Microsoft office products.
  • Ability to identify and apply proper communication methods in patient instruction.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret and read documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent telephone and customer service skills.
  • Skills to implement good safety practices that prevent exposure to known workplace hazards and the necessary action needed when exposed.
  • Skill in applying and modifying principles, methods and techniques of a medical assistant to provide ongoing patient care.
  • Strong attention to detail skills.

Nice To Haves

  • One year medical assisting experience in an ambulatory/clinical setting.
  • Casting and splinting experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • EPIC Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the examination and treatment of patients.
  • Deliver high quality care and services.

  • Administer basic drugs.
  • Perform sterilization and disinfection procedures.
  • Adhere to HIPAA laws and confidentiality policies.
  • Apply and modify principles, methods, and techniques of a medical assistant to provide ongoing patient care.
  • Implement good safety practices that prevent exposure to known workplace hazards and take necessary action when exposed.
