Position Summary: The Medical Assistant at TLC Vascular plays a critical role in delivering efficient, high-quality clinical care and administrative support. The ideal candidate will be patient-focused, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will work directly with vascular providers and clinical staff to ensure the seamless delivery of services and optimal patient experience.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- CPR/BLS Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting; vascular, cardiology, or outpatient procedure clinic experience strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
Nice To Haves
- Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) is a plus.
- Experience with electronic medical records (e.g., eClinicalWorks or similar system) preferred.
- BILINGUAL PREFERRED
Responsibilities
- Greet and room patients, take and document vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
- Prepare patients for vascular procedures and assist with diagnostic testing (e.g., ABI, ultrasound prep).
- Assist physicians with in-office procedures, including sterile field preparation and post-procedure care.
- Perform EKGs, obtain blood samples (phlebotomy), and manage specimen collection as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Monitor and restock medical supplies in exam and procedure rooms.
- Schedule appointments, obtain prior authorizations, and verify insurance information as needed.
- Assist with patient intake forms and ensure accurate data entry.
- Handle incoming calls, patient messages, and assist with prescription refills under supervision.
- Coordinate patient education and provide post-visit instructions.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and OSHA safety protocols.
- Ensure proper infection control and cleaning procedures are followed in all clinical areas.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training as required.
